Telephone Features

Call Waiting

Provides an audible tone indicating a second incoming call.

Briefly depress the switchhook after hearing the call waiting tone.

To Return to the Original Party

Your phone may vary. Consult your owner’s manual for specific instructions on how to access call waiting from your personal telephone.

Press switch hook once and release* again and you will be reconnected to the original caller.

Cancel Call Waiting

Shuts off the call waiting tone. Feature works on a per call basis.

  1. Listen for dial tone
  2. Dial * 70
  3. Listen for second dial tone.
  4. Place call.

Three Way Calling

Allows you to conference two other people during one conversation.

To add a third person to an existing call:

  1. Depress switchhook and listen for special dial tone.
  2. Dial the telephone number of the third person and announce call when answered.
  3. Depress switchhook to establish three-way call.

You must provide your own caller ID display unit.

Please Note: If you would like the caller ID feature to work on call waiting you will need to purchase the appropriate caller ID unit.

Call Forwarding

Sends all calls to another on-campus telephone number.

To Activate Call Forwarding:

  1. Listen for dial tone.
  2. Dial * 72
  3. Dial the extension you wish to forward your calls to (6-XXXX or 7-XXXX).
  4. Listen for confirmation tone.
  5. Dialed extension will ring to announce call forwarding.
  6. Hang up.

To Deactivate Call Forwarding:

  1. Listen for dial tone
  2. Dial * 73.
  3. Listen for confirmation tone.
  4. Hang up.

Speed Dialing

Programs up to 20 numbers on a 2- digit speed dial lists.
To Program or Change a Number:

  1. Listen for dial tone.
  2. Dial * 75.
  3. Listen for dial tone.
  4. Dial 2-digit speed dial code (20-39) and the number to be programmed.
  5. Listen for confirmation tone.
  6. Hang up.

To use the 2-Digit Speed Dialing:

  1. Listen for dial tone.
  2. Dial 2-digit programmed number.

Distinctive Ring

Distinguishes on-campus calls from off-campus calls.

  1. One steady ring indicates a call from on-campus.
  2. Two short rings indicate a call from off-campus.

Caller ID

Caller ID gives you the ability to view the telephone number of an incoming campus, local, or long distance call.

You must provide your own caller ID display unit.
